As a graphic design student I spend a lot of time sketching. Every project has a sketching stage where I need to put down rough ideas to develop. The are a couple of problems with this though. I need a lot of materials such as pencils, paper, pastels, erasers or crayons to put down an interesting idea. Once its done I need to carry these sketches around everywhere to refer to them and go to the trouble of scanning them if I want them on my computer. That's where odosketch comes in. Odosketch is a free online sketching application that doesn't even require you to sign up. You just open a canvas and go. You can choose a variety of colours and brushes to draw with and each of them has the same texture you would expect if doing the sketching by hand. Even the eraser requires you to rub the page a bit to completely erase something, just like in real life. You can also layer colours on top of each other like pastels but without any of the mess. The coolest part about this site is the gallery. It shows just how amazing some of the stuff you can make with odosketch is. The best part is that when you click on each image it shows a fast motion video of how it was made, helping you to make better sketches in the future. Odosketch is definitely something you should check out.
